The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established by Act of Parliament Not. 11 of 1995, and started its operations on 1st July 1996. In carrying out its statutory functions, TRA is regulated by law, and is responsible for administering impartially various taxes of the Central Government.

Auction
It is notified for information to the general public that the under listed goods will be sold by public auction or disposed of in a manner the Commissioner for Customs and Excise may deem fit if they remain un-cleared from the Customs area within thirty (30) days from the date of this notice.
The Auction Sales will be conducted at the Customs Warehouses from 10:00 am on the dates and places as shown below:-
- Monday the 30th March, 2015 – Ubungo Customs Warehouse, AMI ICD, DICD, PMM, Silver and Trans African Logistics
- Wednesday the 1st April, 2015 – KICD, HESU, Chicasa, MAS, Alhushoom and Farion
- Monday the 20th April, 2015 – AMI ICD
- Wednesday the 22nd April, 2015 – DICD, ALHUSHOOM ICD and MOFED ICD
- Friday the 24th April, 2015 – JEFAG ICD, PMM ICD, HESU ICD and SILVER ICD
- Monday the 29th April, 2015 – TALL ICD and MAS ICD
The goods may be viewed by the public during working hours two days before the day of the auction.
CONDITIONS OF SALE
- Successful bidders will be required to pay 25% of the purchase price on the spot. The remaining 75% must be paid within 48 hours after the auction sale;
- Any person who makes the highest bid and fails to pay the mandatory 25% of the purchase price on the spot will be charged for the interference with the auction process with malicious intension and stern legal measures will be taken against such person;
- Goods will be sold in lots of full consignments; and
- Goods shall be withdrawn from the auction upon full payment of the respective duties and taxes.
