Earth Sciences Institute, Shinyanga Reg. No REG/EOS/041P, Private institution with provisional registration, Shinyanga. ESIS’s head office is located at Ndala in Shinyanga Municipality while classes and dormitories are currently located within the mining premises of Williamson Diamond Limited in Mwadui Shinyanga.In the first 10 years, ESIS is intended to offering certificates and diplomas in earth science fields that are competence based – so called National Technical Awards (NTAs) in accordance to National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). Latter on, ESIS shall begin to offer higher levels of competence based system that are/shall be equivalent to degrees (Bachelor and later on Masters and finally PhDs) in the field of Earth Sciences and under the same board, NACTE.

Admission and Applications

Application process for admission to any of ESIS mining courses is done online, downloadable application forms or by hard copies of the application forms.  The minimum requirements for NTAL 4 in any of our long courses is form four (i.e. Ordinary Level of Secondary Education Certificate) with at least 4 passes at D level or NVTA3.

• No age limit
• No gender bias is entertained at ESIS

Application requirements

Requirement to study Basic Certificate Course for one (1) year

• The applicant must at least have 4 subject passes at “D” grade in form four final examination (approved by NECTA) for Basic Certificate in Mining or related courses.
• Applicants who passed NVTA 3 (Certificate of Competence – Level III) from VETA Engineering aligned subjects can also apply for NTAL4 (Basic Certificate Course)

Requirement to study Ordinary Diploma Course for two (2) years

• The applicant must at least passed NTAL4 (basic certificate from colleges approved by NACTE or its equivalent)

Application requirements

At least form four (4) passes at “D” level for Certificate
and NTAL4 for Diploma
